Microsoft 365 Life consumer subscription will be available in spring 2020

Over the past few months, Microsoft has been preparing to introduce a consumer subscription to Office 365, called Microsoft 365 Life. It was originally reported that the subscription service would be introduced early this year. Now network sources say that this will happen only in the spring of next year.

Microsoft 365 Life consumer subscription will be available in spring 2020

As far as we know, the new subscription will be a kind of rebranding of Office 365 Personal and Office 365 Home. In addition to a set of office applications, users will have access to a password manager. This will be an especially important change given the recent report that 44 million Microsoft accounts are using compromised passwords, available in various databases hosted on the Internet by attackers.

It is also known that Microsoft is working on a consumer version of Microsoft Teams, which will allow users to share documents, location data and maintain shared family calendars. It is expected that this service will have a connection with Microsoft 365 Life.

It is currently unknown whether there will be any significant changes to the pricing of existing Office 365 Personal and Office 365 Home subscriptions. Microsoft is expected to launch a new version of its consumer subscription service in the spring of next year, which would fit well with the timing of the Build conference or a separate event dedicated to the presentation of Windows 10X and Surface Neo. Additionally, Microsoft Surface Headphones are set to launch in spring 2020.
