Studio CI Games has prepared not the most pleasant New Year's gift: the company announced the postponement of the free multiplayer mode for the sniper shooter Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts to 2020.
Previously, the developers promised to add network features in December, but in the end they decided to postpone the update in order to fix connection quality problems and modify the system to combat unscrupulous users.
To increase the stability of the connection, the CI Games team intends to integrate dedicated hosting for Amazon GameLift game servers and its Fleet IQ technology into Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts.
The new estimated date for the appearance of multiplayer in Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts is the first quarter of 2020. Thus, the add-on, free for all owners of the base game, will be released between January and March.
Unlike the numbered parts of Sniper Ghost Warrior, Contracts does not offer an open world, but a set of 25 missions in five spacious locations. The main character is a hired killer who fulfills orders.
Despite a noticeable departure from the canons of the series, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts received little better than the main installments of the franchise - depending on the platform varies from 65 to 70 points.
Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts was released on November 22, 2019 on PC (Steam, GOG), PS4 and Xbox One. Within the game can be purchased at a 20% discount - the offer ends on January 2, 2020.
