ASIC miner Innosilicon G32 Grin presented: 10 times better than on video cards

In mid-January, based on the MimbleWimble protocol, the Grin cryptocurrency was introduced, which, according to the developers, should be mined profitable on video cards, and not on custom LSI (ASIC). Grin is mined using Cuckoo Cycle (Cuckatoo) hashing algorithms, which are supposed to be constantly developed, which, again, is intended to make Grin mining unprofitable on ASICs. True, ASIC developers do not agree with this. Chinese company Innosilicon, for example, has prepared a range of hardware solutions for mining Grin using ASICs at home and on farms.

The developer considers the home user to be the main consumer of Grin mining solutions. To do this, Innosilicon created an ASIC miner in the form factor of a PCIe adapter that mimics the size and shape of a video card. The issue price for pre-order, which must be done before the end of April, will be $800. Deliveries of the solution will begin in August. Buying a miner after the start of supplies will cost $1200. This and other miners support Cuckatoo31+ and Cuckatoo32+ hashing algorithms (as well as Cuckatoo29/30). Until April 2020, all algorithms except Cuckatoo32+ will be retired, but Innosilicon equipment will not lose relevance, since it already supports the Cuckatoo32+ algorithm. By the way, the warranty for pre-order equipment has been extended from 6 to 9 months, which will be a nice addition to direct discounts.

The declared performance of the miner in the PCIe adapter form factor will be from 21,5 GPS for CC31+ and up to 4,5 GPS for CC32+ at a consumption level of about 140 W, which, according to the developer, is 10 times more productive than a "good" GPU. Each such card can work both independently and in cascade connection with other adapters. You can connect the adapter via Ethernet and Wi-Fi.

For mini-farms and farms, Innosilicon will offer Grin miners in separate cases: models G32-500 (520W, 100 GPS for CC31+ and 20 GPS for CC32+) and G32-1800 (1800W, 328 GPS for CC31+ and 65,6 GPS for CC32+). The cost of the 520W miner will be $2888 for pre-order and $4500 after the start of shipments. The price of the 1800W miner will be $9388 if pre-ordered and $15 if bought later.
