Introduced people.kernel.org, a blogging service for Linux kernel developers

Submitted by new service for Linux kernel developers - people.kernel.org, which is designed to fill the niche formed after the closure of the Google+ service. Many core developers, including Linus Torvalds, blogged on Google+ and, after its shutdown, felt the need for a platform that allowed them to publish notes from time to time in a format other than the LKML mailing list.

The people.kernel.org service is built using a free decentralized platform WriteFreely, focused on blogging and allowing you to use the ActivityPub protocol to combine them into a common federated network. The platform supports formatting materials in Markdown format. The ability to start a blog at people.kernel.org is currently limited to developers included in the maintainer list. For those who are not listed in this list, starting a blog is possible upon receipt of a recommendation from one of the maintainers.

Note: Host where people.kernel.org is deployed falls under under the blocking of Roskomnadzor and is not available in the Russian Federation, as well as even more three dozen sites of various free projects.
