Ampere QuickSilver server CPU introduced: 80 ARM Neoverse N1 cloud cores

Ampere Computing has announced a new generation 7nm ARM processor, QuickSilver, designed for cloud systems. The new product has 80 cores with the latest Neoverse N1 microarchitecture, more than 128 PCIe 4.0 lanes and an eight-channel DDR4 memory controller with support for modules with frequencies above 2666 MHz. And thanks to CCIX support, it is possible to create dual-processor platforms. Together, all this should allow the new chip to successfully compete in the clouds with x86 solutions.
