Arduino UNO Q board with 4GB RAM and 32GB eMMC storage unveiled

Arduino, acquired by Qualcomm last year, announced the availability of a new variant of the UNO Q board, featuring 4GB of RAM and 32GB of eMMC storage. The UNO Q with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of eMMC storage is priced at $59. By comparison, the variant with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of eMMC storage sells for $44.

The new package allows you to connect a keyboard, mouse, and monitor to the device, and use the board as a personal computer with a graphical environment based on standard distributions. LinuxThe presence of a hardware AI accelerator and DSP also makes it possible to use the board for more complex machine learning, computer vision, robotics, and audio processing tasks than those that could be handled on a board with 2 GB of RAM. The recommended distribution is Debian GNU/Linux.

Both board variants come with a Qualcomm Dragonwing QRB2210 processor and an STM32U585 microcontroller. The QRB2210 processor has four Cortex-A53 cores (2.0 GHz), is equipped with an Adreno 702 GPU (with support for OpenGL ES 3.1, Vulkan 1.1, and OpenCL 2.0, and hardware decoders for H.264, H.265, and VP9) and a dual-core DSP with functions for accelerating the execution of AI models and audio processing. The STM32U585 microcontroller includes a 160 MHz Arm Cortex-M33 core with TrustZone technology, DSP, and FPU, and can be used to control additional hardware in real time. The board is equipped with USB-C, Wi-Fi 2.4/5 GHz, and Bluetooth 5.1. The board form factor, connectors, and peripheral support are similar to the Arduino Uno.
