Introduced the program for controlling drones Kirogi

At the KDE Developers Conference taking place these days is presented new application kirogi, which provides an environment for controlling drones. The program is written using Qt Quick and the framework Kirigami from the KDE Frameworks, which allows you to create universal interfaces suitable for smartphones, tablets and PCs. Project code spread licensed under GPLv2+. At the current stage of development, the program can work with the Parrot Anafi, Parrot Bebop 2 and Ryze Tello drones, but they promise to increase the number of supported models.

The Kirogi interface allows you to control the flight of the drone from a first-person view with live video feed from the camera, guiding the aircraft using the mouse, touch screen, joystick, game pad, or by selecting a position on the navigation map. It is possible to change flight parameters such as speed and altitude limits. The plans include the implementation of loading the flight route, support for the MAVLink and MSP (MultiWii Serial Protocol) protocols, maintaining a database with information about completed flights and managing a collection of photos and videos taken by the drone.
