Vepp is presented - a new server and site control panel from ISPsystem

ISPsystem, a Russian IT company developing software for hosting automation, virtualization and data center monitoring, has introduced its new product Vepp. A new panel for managing the server and site.

Vepp is aimed at technically unprepared users who want to quickly create their site, not forgetting about reliability and security. Has an intuitive interface.

One of the conceptual differences from the previous ISPmanager 5 panel is that the panel, as a rule, is not installed directly on the managed server. The server is managed remotely via ssh.

List of current Vepp features:

  • Linux: CentOS 7 (promised support for Ubuntu 18.04).
  • Web server: Apache and Nginx.
  • PHP: PHP in CGI mode, versions 5.2 to 7.3. You can configure: time zone, disabling functions, error output, changing the size of the uploaded file, memory, the amount of data sent to the site.
  • Database: MariaDB, phpMyAdmin support. You can rename, delete, add a user, create a dump, upload a dump, delete a database.
  • Domain management: editing and creating records: A, AAAA, NS, MX, TXT, SRV, CNAME, DNAME. If there is no domain, Vepp will create a technical one.
  • Mail: Exim, creating mailboxes, managing through a mail client.
  • Backups: full.
  • CMS support: WordPress (latest version), template directory support.
  • SSL certificate: issuing a self-signed certificate, installing Let's Encrypt, automatically switching to HTTPS, adding your own certificate.
  • FTP User: Created automatically.
  • File Manager: create, delete files and folders, download, upload, archive, unzip.
  • Cloud Installation: Tested on Amazon EC2.
  • Site availability monitoring.
  • Work behind NAT.

Currently, Vepp is not yet a complete replacement for ISPmanager 5. ISPsystem still supports ISPmanager 5 and releases security updates.
