Discontinuing shipments of all Intel Kaby Lake processors

"Do not count your chickens before they are hatched". Guided by this principle, Intel this year started a large-scale release of the price list from obsolete or limited-demand processors. The queue has also reached the once mass models of the Kaby Lake family, which is now being reduced almost in its entirety. The corporation did not disdain even a couple of surviving processors of the Skylake family: Core i7-6700 and Core i5-6500. This was told by another notice, which came through the mailing list to all customers of the company.

Discontinuing shipments of all Intel Kaby Lake processors

After the cessation of supplies of the listed processors, the eighth generation Core processors, as well as their younger relatives of the ninth generation, formally belonging to the same Coffee Lake family, will almost completely dominate the corresponding sections of the official Intel price list. Thinning out the range of Intel processors is usually decided on the eve of the announcement of new models, but the October debut of the Core i9-9900KS can hardly be considered the true reason for such “cleansing”. Most likely, the processor giant is preparing to announce Comet Lake-S processors in the LGA 1200 version next quarter, led by a ten-core model.

Orders for Kaby Lake and Skylake processors that fall into this cycle of the end-of-delivery program are accepted until April 24, 2020, the last batch will be shipped on October 7 of the same year. The company will extend the life of several models, but only by transferring them to the Internet of Things segment. The fate of immediately leaving Intel warehouses will avoid the Core i6700-5, Core i6500-7, Core i7700-7, Core i7500-7, Core i7700-5T and Core i7500-9T. In the previous status, they will also be delivered until October 2020, XNUMX.
