Terminated development of TrueOS (former PC-BSD)

On the iXsystems forum, to the question "Is development of TrueOS continuing?" PC-BSD founder Chris Moore answered: "Currently, the main developers True OS stopped working on the system. We are currently busy working on TrueNAS Core, but as soon as we have free time, the site and repositories (TrueOS) will be disabled.

For the past couple of years, TrueOS has been mostly a hobby project of a few iXsystems employees, according to Moore. However, the lack of interest from the community, as well as the hard work on TrueNAS, led to a halt in the project. The formerly TrueOS-based Trident distribution is already moved to use Void Linux. GhostBSD Developers did not plan move away from TrueOS due to being tied to the OpenRC system manager, but will likely be forced back to FreeBSD as a base.
