Lucid Motors announced plans to hold an online presentation of the production version of the Lucid Air premium electric sedan on September 9th.
The California-based startup will showcase the Air's final exterior and interior design at the event, as well as provide new details on the vehicle's specifications, configurations and pricing.
However, customers who were the first to order a novelty are unlikely to be able to drive the long-awaited electric car soon, since its deliveries will begin next year.
The Air was due to be unveiled at the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS), which was scheduled to take place in April. But, like most other car dealerships and major events, NYIAS has been postponed due to the pandemic. Last month, event organizers announced the complete cancellation of this year's NYIAS.
Lucid Motors is currently phasing back its workforce of more than 1000 people. None of the employees were fired due to the crisis due to the pandemic. Moreover, the company's staff has grown over the past three months by 160 people. Lucid Motors plans to hire more than 700 people by the end of the year.
In parallel with the development of Lucid Air, the company is expanding its production infrastructure. This year it plans to complete the first phase of construction of its plant in Casa Grande, Arizona, the only dedicated electric vehicle plant in the United States.
