The application of the map "Mir" will appear on smartphones in Russia

The Izvestia newspaper reports that gadgets sold in Russia may be required to install the application of the domestic Mir payment system.

We are talking about Mir Pay software. This is an analogue of Samsung Pay and Apple Pay services, which allow you to make payments in a contactless way.

To work with Mir Pay, you need a mobile device - a smartphone or tablet. In this case, the gadget must be equipped with an NFC short-range wireless data controller.

It is reported that the possibility of mandatory installation of Mir Pay on gadgets sold in Russia was discussed at a meeting of specialists from the working group of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS).

“The fact that Mir Pay can be made one of the Russian applications required for pre-installation on electronics supplied to Russia was discussed at a meeting of the working group held this week at the FAS,” Izvestia writes.

Recall that recently Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law, according to which smartphones, computers and smart TVs in our country must be supplied with pre-installed Russian software. The new rules will come into effect from July 2020.
