Read Along is based on the Bolo learning app that was launched in India a few months ago. At that time, the application supported English and Hindi. The updated and renamed version received support for nine languages, but, unfortunately, Russian is not among them. It is likely that Read Along will continue to evolve in the future, and developers will add support for other languages.

The application uses speech recognition and text-to-speech technologies. For more convenient interaction, there is a built-in voice assistant with which it will be easier for a child to learn the correct pronunciation of words when reading. The process of interaction with Read Along contains a game component, and children will be able to receive rewards and additional content for completing certain tasks.

β€œWith many students currently at home due to school closures, families around the world are looking for ways to help children develop their reading skills. To support families, we are providing early access to the Read Along app. This is an Android app for kids ages 5 and up to help them learn to read by providing verbal and visual cues as they read aloud.

It is also noted that Read Along was designed with security and privacy in mind, it does not contain advertising content and in-app purchases. Once installed on the device, the application works offline and does not require an Internet connection. All data is processed on the user's device and is not transmitted to Google servers.
