Spotify Lite app officially launched in 36 countries, no Russia again

Spotify has been testing a lite version of the mobile client since the middle of last year. Due to it, developers intend to expand their presence in regions where the speed of the Internet connection is low, and users mainly own mobile devices of primary and secondary levels.

Spotify Lite app officially launched in 36 countries, no Russia again

Recently, the Spotify Lite app is officially available on the Google Play digital content store in 36 countries, and in the future, the lite version of the mobile client will be further distributed. Already, Spotify Lite is available to residents of developing regions in Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa.

The Spotify Lite app has a simple and intuitive interface that is easy to master. Some features of the standard application have been removed, but users will still be able to search for artists and songs, save them, share recordings with friends, discover new music and create playlists.

The app can be used for free or with a premium account. Moreover, users can combine the use of the standard and lite versions, being in places with insufficiently high Internet connection speeds. Another important point is the ability to set limits on the amount of received data. This feature will prove useful for people who use metered data plans. When the set limit is reached, the application will automatically inform the user about it.

Like other Lite apps, the lite version of Spotify is small (about 10 MB). This means that it can be used by owners of devices that do not have enough space to install large applications. In addition, Spotify Lite supports installation on all Android mobile devices from version 4.3.
