Participants of The International 2019 tournament will play for more than $28 million, according to the Dota 2 Prize Pool Tracker portal. Since the launch of the Battle Pass, the amount has increased by $26,5 million (1658%).
The prize money exceeded last year's tournament record by $2,5 million, thanks to which Battle Pass holders received 10 bonus levels of the Battle Pass. If they pass the $30 million mark, they will receive a similar reward.
The International 2019 will be held from 15 to 25 August in Shanghai (China). 18 teams will play in the tournament. Among them are participants from the CIS - Virtus.pro, which received a slot according to the Dota Pro Circuit rating, and Natus Vincere, selected through the regional qualifier.
Last year's title went to OG. In the final, the esportsmen beat PSG.LGD with a score of 3:2. The players earned $11,2 million.
