Western Digital introduced under the G-Technology brand portable hard drives of the ArmorATD family, enclosed in a ruggedized case.
The family includes three models - with a capacity of 1 TB, 2 TB and 4 TB. The dimensions of the first two versions are 130 × 87 × 21 mm, the third - 132 × 88 × 30 mm.
The drives are designed for users who often work in open spaces, industries, etc. These can be, for example, photographers or engineers.
The solutions have multi-level protection that protects them from water, dirt, shocks and falls from a height of up to 1,2 meters (up to 1 meter for a 4-terabyte modification).
For connection, a USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 1 port is used. The declared data transfer rate reaches 140 MB / s (135 MB / s for the older version).
The package includes a USB-C to USB-C cable, as well as a USB-C to USB-A adapter. Guaranteed compatibility with computers running Apple macOS and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
Orders for the ArmorATD series hard drives are already open, with prices ranging from $90 to $170.
