The Vedomosti newspaper spoke about the project, citing information received from informed persons. It is said that the discussion of the possibility of forming a virtual operator is being conducted with Tele2. The negotiations are currently at an early stage, so it is premature to talk about any final decisions.

The details of the project are not disclosed, but it is noted that Magnit intends to form a kind of ecosystem of additional services for its customers. It is not yet clear how the new operator will differ from other similar MVNO platforms already operating on the Russian market.

One way or another, now we are talking only about a pilot project. There is no word on a possible launch date for the service.

It should be added that Tele2 is actively developing the business of mobile virtual operators. At the end of last year, the number of MVNO subscribers on the Tele2 network amounted to 3,75 million people, an increase of 2 million users compared to 2018, when the corresponding subscriber base was 1,75 million people.
