Final Fantasy VII remake producer Yoshinori Kitase shared his thoughts on a possible sequel to Parasite Eve in an interview with Canadian wrestler Tyson Smith, aka Kenny Omega.

Smith believes Parasite Eve is a unique hybrid of horror and RPG that would certainly appeal to today's audiences: "It was very original and distinctive, so I think its time has come."
"I don't know about any plans [to revive the franchise] at the moment, but it would be foolish not to use these characters [in the future]," Kitase stated confidently.
Kitase called the "rich and deep" personalities of Parasite Eve's characters one of the series' key features. Of all the characters in the franchise, the producer singled out Aya Brea, the protagonist.

Parasite Eve is an action RPG with horror elements. The game was released in 1998 on the original PlayStation, where it received a direct sequel a year later (in the case of the Japanese release).
Fans had to wait until 2010 for the next installment. Kitase produced the PlayStation Portable spin-off, The 3rd Birthday, but unlike the first two games, it failed to gain widespread popularity.
The series was last mentioned at the end of 2018, when Square Enix In Europe, the trademark Parasite Eve was used. However, this trademark has not yet led to any new releases.
