The Debian project has released a distribution for schools - Debian-Edu 11

A release of Debian Edu 11, also known as Skolelinux, is being prepared for use in educational institutions. The distribution kit contains a set of tools integrated into one installation image for the rapid deployment of both servers and workstations in schools, while stationary workstations in computer labs and portable systems are supported. 438 MB and 5.8 GB assemblies have been prepared for download.

Debian Edu is adapted out of the box to organize computer classes based on diskless workstations and thin clients that boot over the network. The distribution provides several types of desktop environments that allow you to use Debian Edu on both the latest PCs and legacy hardware. The choice of working environments based on Xfce, GNOME, LXDE, MATE, KDE Plasma, Cinnamon and LXQt. The basic package contains more than 60 training packages.
