The Fedora Project cuts ties with the Free Software Foundation and takes a stand against Stallman

The Fedora Project Governing Board released a statement regarding the return of Richard Stallman to the Board of Directors of the Free Software Foundation. The statement says that Fedora is committed to building an inclusive, open, and welcoming community that does not tolerate harassment, bullying, or any other form of communication abuse. It further states that the Fedora Governing Board is stunned that the Free Software Foundation allowed Stallman to return based on his past remarks (note: Stallman and his supporters dismiss the opponents' arguments, considering the attacks unfounded harassment and pointing out that the attack is manipulated out of context, distorted and misconstrued statements or unsubstantiated prescribing opinions that Stallman does not share).

As long as Stallman is involved in the management of the Free Software Foundation, the Fedora Project will refrain from any association with this organization, including ceasing financial support and participation in events hosted by the Free Software Foundation or in which Stallman participates as a speaker. Similar action will also be taken with regard to all organizations in which Stallman holds a leadership position (Stallman remains the head of the GNU project). Earlier, a similar position was voiced by Red Hat, which oversees the Fedora Linux developer community.

Additionally, it can be noted that the number of signatories of the letter in support of Stallman gained 5215 signatures, and the letter against Stallman was signed by 3013 people.
