FreeBSD Project Adopts New Code of Conduct for Developers

FreeBSD Project сообщил on the adoption of a new code of conduct (Code of Conduct) based on code LLM project.

In 2018, a code survey was conducted among developers. At that time, 94% of developers considered it important to maintain a respectful manner of communication, 89% believed that FreeBSD should welcome the participation of people of any worldview in the project (2% against), 74% considered it necessary to remove toxic people from the community, regardless of their contribution to development ( 9% against).

In 2020, a second survey was conducted, in which developers were offered three codes:

4% were in favor of keeping current code, 33% voted for the variant from the language development community Go, 63% were in favor of the option from the project LLVM.

Adopted Code welcomes:

  • friendliness and tolerance;
  • benevolence;
  • attentiveness;
  • respectful attitude;
  • accuracy in statements;
  • desire to delve into the details of what is happening.
