The Gentoo project has published a build for mobile devices shipped with Android

The Gentoo Project presented new 64-bit build "Gentoo on Androidaimed at providing a Gentoo desktop environment for mobile devices based on the Android platform. Assembly set inside an existing Android operating system (Gentoo stage3 is installed in a separate /data/gentoo64 directory and uses the Android system kernel).

Installation requires root access to the Android firmware of the device. The environment is launched by the /data/gentoo64/startprefix command, which sets the symbolic links necessary for operation (/bin, /usr/bin, etc., do not intersect with the Android platform, the system components of which are located in the /system directory). The distribution includes gcc 10.1.0, binutils 2.34 and glibc 2.31. Installation of the necessary programs is carried out using the standard portage system.
