The KDE project introduced the third generation of KDE Slimbooks

KDE Project presented the third generation of ultrabooks supplied under the brand KDE SlimBook. The product was developed with the participation of the KDE community in cooperation with the Spanish hardware vendor Slimbook. The software is based on the KDE Plasma desktop, the Ubuntu-based KDE Neon system environment, and a selection of free applications such as the Krita graphics editor, Blender 3D design system, FreeCAD CAD, and Kdenlive video editor. All applications and updates shipped with the KDE Slimbook are thoroughly tested by the KDE developers to ensure a high level of environment stability and hardware compatibility.

Unlike previous series, the new KDE Slimbook is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 4800 H CPU with 8 CPU cores, 16 CPU threads and 7 GPU cores instead of Intel processors. The laptop is offered in versions with screens of 14 and 15.6 inches (1920Γ—1080, IPS, 16:9, sRGB 100%). The weight of the devices is respectively 1.07 and 1.49 kg, and the price is 1039 and 1074 dollars. The devices are equipped with 2TB NVME SSD, 64GB RAM, 3 USB ports, 1 USB-C, HDMI,
Ethernet (RJ45) and Wifi 6 (Intel AX200).
