Project to form the base of supported hardware for BSD systems

Open a new database of supported hardware for BSD systems, prepared by the creators of the database linux-hardware.org. Among the most popular features of the database are the search for device drivers, performance tests, anonymization of collected system logs, and statistical reports. The options for using the database are varied - you can simply display a list of all devices, you can send logs to developers to fix an error, you can save a β€œsnapshot” of the current state of the computer for the future to compare with it in case of problems, etc.

As for Linux systems, the database is replenished using the program hw-probe (Version 1.6-BETA was released specifically for BSD). This program allows you to abstract from the differences between BSD systems and display a list of devices in a single format. Recall that unlike Linux, there is no single way to list PCI/USB and other devices on BSD systems. FreeBSD uses pciconf/usbconfig for this, OpenBSD uses pcidump/usbdevs, and NetBSD uses pcictl/usbctl.

Supported systems tested include: FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD, MidnightBSD, DragonFly, GhostBSD, NomadBSD, FuryBSD, TrueOS, PC-BSD, FreeNAS, pfSense, HardenedBSD, FuguIta, OS108 this). Everyone is invited to take part in BETA-testing and database replenishment.
Prepared instructions for installing the base client and creating a sample of equipment.
