The Russian super-heavy rocket project requires significant improvements

The preliminary design of the Russian super-heavy rocket is not yet completely ready. TASS reports this, citing statements by Dmitry Rogozin, general director of the state corporation Roscosmos.

The Russian super-heavy rocket project requires significant improvements

Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about the need to develop a super-heavy missile system back in 2018 at a meeting with the leadership of Roscosmos. The start of flight tests of this carrier is scheduled for 2028.

The new rocket is expected to be assembled according to the principle of a technological constructor: each part should become an independent product.

The complex will help in implementing complex programs for the development of solar system objects. These could be missions to the Moon and Mars.

True, for now the preliminary design of the Russian super-heavy class rocket requires further development. β€œThere are several dozen comments, but they are of a working nature and will be finalized in the process of creating the technical appearance of the ship and rocket,” said Mr. Rogozin.

To launch the rocket, a new launch complex will be deployed at the Vostochny Cosmodrome. The first targeted launches will be organized after 2030.
