The appeal was sent by the Association of Trading Companies and Manufacturers of Electrical Household and Computer Equipment (RATEK), which includes such companies as Apple, Google, Samsung, Intel, Dell, M.Video and others.

According to the publication, the letter indicates that the entry into force of the bill may adversely affect the development of the industry and, as stated, "is fraught with increased disintegration processes within the Eurasian Economic Union, a decrease in business activity in the consumer electronics and software market."

Bill on pre-installation of Russian software was accepted State Duma in the third reading a week ago. From July 1, 2020, the document obliges companies, when selling certain types of technically complex goods in Russia, to ensure that Russian software is pre-installed on them.
