“Woke up already?”: Greymoor add-on to TES Online parodied the intro from TES V: Skyrim

The introduction is one of the most famous moments in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. A trip to the place of execution in the same wagon with Ulfric Stormcloak gave rise to a lot of jokes and memes. The developers at ZeniMax Online Studios seem to be aware of the love of users for the initial stage of the fifth part, as they very successfully parodied it in the latest expansion. Greymoor to The Elder Scrolls Online.

New extension adds in the project the western part of the province of the Nords and acts as the first chapter of the large-scale supplement "The Dark Heart of Skyrim". It implemented a plot about the awakening of an ancient evil and battles with an army of vampires. And the story begins in Greymoor in the same way as in Skyrim: the player's character finds himself in a wagon and hears the voice of the coachman. He says: “Are you awake? We just crossed the border." The man then says that while he was away, strange things began to happen here, but it's still nice to "come home - back to Skyrim."

The introduction to Greymoor clearly pays homage to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and fans of the fifth part. It’s even strange that in the cart next to the main character there is some kind of elf, and not a Nord, similar to Ulfric Stormcloak.

As for the content in the Greymoor expansion, it includes dungeons, random events, Aegis of Kyne challenges, Russian localization, a rework of the vampire branch, and a separate storyline lasting up to eight hours.

The latest expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online is now available on PC, and will reach PS9 and Xbox One on June 4th.
