343 Industries has announced that the public beta testing of Halo 3 for PC will start next month. To be more precise, this stage for the classic shooter will begin in the first half of June.
343 Industries : "Halo 3 will be next in the collection on PC. We're already in the early stages of testing Ring 1. We're aiming to get a fully testable build into the hands of our partners next week, much earlier than usual. Our goal is to launch Halo 3 public testing in the first half of June."
It's worth noting that Halo 3 in the Halo: Master Chief Collection is not a remaster. In other words, don't expect the same graphical changes that the public received with Halo Anniversary and Halo 2 Anniversary. Also, unlike Halo and Halo 2, this will be the first official launch of Halo 3 on PC.
In Halo 3, the war has reached its climax. The Flood continues to increase the number and strength of its troops; Earth's army is scattered and nearly destroyed, and the Covenant threatens to activate the Halo Ring, which has the power to wipe out all life in the galaxy. After the release of Halo 3, developers at 343 Industries are going to focus on Halo 3: ODST and Halo 4. These will be the last two games that will be released on PC: so far, the company has no plans to release Halo 5's single-player campaign on computers.
