Publishing Microsoft Edge for Linux is a planned feature

Creating a version for Linux is no longer just mentioned by Microsoft developers at conferences, but has been relegated to the category of confirmed planned features that have been discussed and reviewed. The plans also mention support for synchronizing add-ons and history between devices, the ability to navigate through the table of contents of PDF files, a mode for selective cleaning of cookies, the ability to attach annotations to pages, support for themes from the Chrome Web Store, and an option to disable automatic video and audio playback.

Recall that last year, Microsoft start development of a new edition of the Edge browser, translated to the Chromium engine. In the process of working on a new browser, Microsoft joined to the Chromium development community and began to return improvements and fixes being made for Edge to the project. For example, improvements related to technologies for people with disabilities, touch screen controls, support for the ARM64 architecture, improved scrolling, and multimedia data processing were transferred to Chromium. Optimization and refinement of the D3D11 backend for ANGLE, layers for translating OpenGL ES calls to OpenGL, Direct3D 9/11, Desktop GL, and Vulkan.
