QNAP Systems introduced the TR-002 device, a storage enclosure that can be used as an external storage or expansion module for a NAS server.
The novelty is designed to install two drives in the form factor of 3,5 or 2,5 inches with Serial ATA 3.0 (6 Gb / s). These can be traditional hard drives or solid state solutions.
Model TR-002 allows you to create arrays of RAID 0, RAID 1 and JBOD. Thus, users will be able to configure the system for their own needs - for example, use drives in a "mirror" mode to increase the reliability of information storage.
To connect to a computer or NAS server, the novelty uses a USB 3.1 Gen.2 Type-C interface, which provides a throughput of up to 10 Gb / s.
The dimensions of the device are 168,5 × 102 × 219 mm, weight - 1,37 kilograms. The cooling system uses a 70 mm fan, the noise level of which does not exceed 17,8 dBA.
There is currently no information on the price of the TR-002 solution.
