Qualcomm plans to introduce its next-generation Snapdragon flagship mobile processor before the end of this year. At least, according to the MySmartPrice resource, this follows from the statements of Judd Heape, one of the leaders of Qualcomm's product division.

Qualcomm's current top-tier smartphone chip is the Snapdragon 855. The processor includes eight Kryo 485 cores clocked at 1,80GHz to 2,84GHz, an Adreno 640 graphics accelerator, and a Snapdragon X4 LTE 24G modem.

The named solution will probably be replaced by the Snapdragon 865 chip. Although, as Mr. Heap noted, this designation is not yet final.

One of the features of the future processor, as was said, will be support for HDR10+. In addition, the product will most likely include a 5G modem for working in fifth-generation cellular networks.

Other characteristics of the Snapdragon 865 have not yet been disclosed. But we can assume that the solution will receive at least eight Kryo computing cores and a next-generation graphics accelerator.

Commercial smartphones and phablets on the new hardware platform will debut no earlier than the first quarter of 2020.
