It should be noted that the recall did not affect the 1500 Ram 2019 model, which has undergone a major upgrade and uses a different lock design.
The problem is related to the rear door lock mechanism. According to the automaker, there is a small internal component in the tailgate that can break over time. If this happens, the tailgate could open while the pickup is moving, creating a risk of objects falling from the pickup onto the road and endangering the safety of other vehicle drivers.
