Frederik Schreiber, vice president of 3D Realms, shared his opinion about this. In his opinion, the PS5 and Xbox Scarlett will have “a lot more features” compared to what the Stadia platform offers at launch. The developer expects an increase in the level of availability of new devices for insiders. He notes that with each generation, the development environment moves closer to computer standards. The new generation of consoles will become more powerful, and their development process will be simplified. The current generation of consoles is already quite powerful, but during its existence processors, memory and graphics accelerators have become more advanced. Due to this, developers get more opportunities when creating next-generation consoles.
Regarding Google Stadia, Mr. Schreiber said that at the moment he does not consider the platform relevant. In his opinion, the future PS5 and Xbox Scarlett consoles will be much more efficient and productive.
Let us remind you that Sony has already some details regarding PS5. It became known that the device will be equipped with a solid-state drive, will have AMD architecture and will support 8K resolution. As for the new creation from Microsoft, official data can probably be announced at E3 2019.
