“Microtransactions in RTS are not what you need. All we are going to do is release new DLC,” said Isgreen.

Isgreen stressed that he doesn't yet know what direction the company will take, but noted that it won't involve the addition of new civilizations. According to him, there are already 35 of them, and users have asked to focus on other game elements. He stated that in many ways the way the game develops depends on the fans - the studio will try to maintain contact with the community and give the fans what they want.

The developer indicated that the new approach applies to the entire franchise. Despite the fact that Relic Entertainment is developing it, World's Edge will study the development prospects for all games in the series. This also applies to Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition.

Former authors of Age of Empires IV published game diary. The strategy will receive serious graphical improvements and will become more detailed than its predecessors. In the fourth part, the studio promised to build on the rich past of the series, but at the same time remain friendly to new users. A release date for Age of Empires IV has yet to be revealed.
