Wine developers have decided to transfer development to GitLab

Alexandre Julliard, creator and project leader of Wine, summarized the results of testing the experimental collaborative development server gitlab.winehq.org and discussing the possibility of transferring development to the GitLab platform. Most of the developers have embraced the use of GitLab and the project has begun a gradual transition to GitLab as their main development platform.

To ease the transition, a gateway has been created to allow pull requests and comments from Gitlab to be sent to the wine-devel mailing list, keeping the same routine for those who are used to tracking development activity via email. The new workflow involves directly adding patches to Git rather than emailing maintainers. Changes are proposed to be submitted to Git in the form of pull requests, after which the submitted patches will be tested in the continuous integration system, redirected to the wine-devel mailing list for discussion, and tied to reviewers who must review and approve the change.
