The developers of the ReactOS operating system, aimed at ensuring compatibility with Microsoft Windows programs and drivers, managed to run a 64-bit port of ReactOS on a system with an Elbrus-8C1 processor. The launch was made in the x86 instruction translation mode using the Lintel 4.2 translator. PS/2 keyboard and mouse are functional, USB drives are detected but not yet mounted.
Additionally, it is noted that thanks to the work of George Bișoc to improve the security mechanisms in ReactOS, it is now possible to use the Server 2003 kernel through a simple replacement.
