Red Hat has extended paid support for RHEL minor releases to 6 years.

Red Hat has announced a new paid support program, Extended Life Cycle, Premium, which will provide 14 years of support for the Red Hat Enterprise distribution branches. Linux 8/9/10: 5 years of full public updates + 5 years of public updates with fixes for serious bugs and vulnerabilities (without adding new features or expanding hardware support) + 4 years of updates with fixes for critical issues for paid subscribers.

Previously, four years of additional paid support was provided for RHEL 7, but this practice has now been extended to RHEL 8/9/10. A special feature of the "Extended Life Cycle, Premium" program is the extended release period for minor releases (sub-releases of RHEL 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, etc.). Updates that address vulnerabilities with a CVSS severity level of 7 or higher, as well as fix serious bugs for minor releases, will now be released for six years (previously two years for Extended Update plus an additional two years with a separate Extended Update subscription). This will reduce the time it takes to upgrade to new minor releases on systems that support continuously running critical services.

Long-term support for interim releases will be provided through the release itself. For example, extended updates for the May release of RHEL 10.2 will be generated until May 2032, for the November release of RHEL 10.3 until May 2027, and for the May release of RHEL 10.4 until May 2033. The RHEL 10 branch as a whole will be supported until 2039, the RHEL 9 branch until 2036, and RHEL 8 until 2033.

Red Hat has extended paid support for RHEL minor releases to 6 years.

As for other distributions, SUSE has been supported for 16 years. Linux, 15 years supported Ubuntu, 10 years (5 years LTS + 5 years Extended LTS) supported Debian GNU/Linux, 2 years of support for openSUSE and 13 months for Fedora Linux.
