The next release of the open source operating system, 9front, has been released.
9front, plan9 (as well as inferno) are operating systems that are ahead of their time and combine such qualities as extreme clarity and conciseness of basic abstractions.
Taken together, this gives a frightening (for the average POSIX user) architectural transparency and ease of solving complex problems.
In this release, we have the following improvements:
- The intel driver supports 8000/9000 series Wifi cards.
- Full performance on laptops lenovo T480, T495.
- Bigger PCI code refactoring.
- Now 9front can be run without hardware issues on Raspberry PI4 8GB.
- New APIs for working with dates and times.
As well as many bug fixes and minor improvements
- Multiple improvements to support 64bit addressing in device drivers.
- Fixes for dns client and server, torrent client and mail applications.
