Manjaro Linux 26.0 distribution release

Manjaro Linux 26.0, a novice-focused distribution based on Arch Linux, has been released. The distribution features a simplified and user-friendly installation process, automatic hardware detection, and support for installing the necessary drivers. Manjaro is available as live builds with the KDE (5.4 GB), GNOME (5.2 GB), and Xfce (5.1 GB) desktop environments, designed for the x86_64 architecture and various ARM-based boards. Budgie, Cinnamon, Deepin, LXQt, and i3 builds are also being developed with community input.

To manage repositories, Manjaro uses its own toolkit BoxIt, designed in the image of Git. The repository is maintained on the principle of continuous inclusion of updates (rolling), but new versions go through an additional stage of stabilization. In addition to its own repository, there is support for using the AUR repository (Arch User Repository). The distribution is equipped with a graphical installer and a graphical interface for system configuration.

Features of the release:

  • The Linux kernel has been updated to version 6.18. Additionally, packages with LTS releases of kernel 6.12 and 6.6 are available.
  • The GNOME-based edition has been updated to GNOME 49.
