Tails 4.5 distribution release with UEFI Secure Boot support

Submitted by release of a specialized distribution Tails 4.5 (The Amnesic Incognito Live System), based on the Debian package base and designed to provide anonymous access to the network. Anonymous exit to Tails is provided by the Tor system. All connections, except traffic through the Tor network, are blocked by default by the packet filter. Encryption is used to store user data in the save user data between runs mode. Ready for download iso image (1.1 GB) capable of working in Live mode.

All changes:

  • Added support for booting in UEFI Secure Boot mode.
  • A transition has been made from aufs to overlayfs to organize writing over a file system operating in read-only mode.
  • Tor Browser has been updated to version 9.0.9, synchronized with the release Firefox 68.7.0, which eliminated 5 vulnerabilities, of which three (CVE-2020-6825) could potentially lead to code execution when opening specially crafted pages.
  • Switched from the Sikuli test suite to a combination of OpenCV for image matching, xdotool for mouse control testing, and libvirt for keyboard control testing.
