Release IPFire 2.23 Core 139

IPFire is a lightweight Linux distribution for use on network devices, particularly firewalls. Distribution is managed through a web interface for easier access.

The new update called Core 139 includes:

  • Improved boot and reconnect: Remote scripts have been cleaned up to avoid unnecessary delays after a system is leased by DHCP from a WAN service provider. This allows the system to reconnect faster after the Internet connection is lost, downloading and connecting are also faster.
  • Intrusion Prevention Improvements: Various small bug fixes have been applied in this core update that make IPS a little better with each release.
  • To take advantage of deeper DNS packet inspection, IPS are now made aware of the system's use of specific DNS servers.
