This week, September 10, after two years of development, the next version of the CAD layouts of integrated circuits (ICs) KLayout was released. This cross-platform CAD is written in C++ using the Qt toolkit and is distributed under the terms of the GPLv2 license. There is also a feature to view PCB layout files in Gerber format. Python and Ruby extensions are supported.
Main changes in release 0.26
- Added topology and schema matching check (Layout vs. Schematic - LVS) and netlist extraction from topology;
- Improved Design Rules Check (DRC);
- Added topology check for spurious antennas (Antenna check);
- Added library browser;
- Bugs fixed;
