Release of console XMPP/Jabber client profanity 0.7.0

Six months after the last issue submitted release of multiplatform console XMPP/Jabber client profanity 0.7.0. The profanity interface is built using the ncurses library, supports notifications using the libnotify library. The application can be built either with the libstrophe library, which implements the work with the XMPP protocol, or with its fork libmesodemaintained by the developer. The client's capabilities can be extended using plugins in python. The project code is written in C and spreads licensed under GPLv3.

The project was abandoned for a long time. In 2019, the project received a second life and was transferred to the management of a new co-author. The official website of the project with updated user information was transferred to the hosting GitHub.

Most of the changes in the new release are related to the introduction HOMEMO for end-to-end encryption. At the moment OMEMO works seamlessly in normal tΓͺte-Γ -tΓͺte, but has some issues when used in multi-user chat. Full support developers aim to implement in the next subsequent releases. The application also supports GPG and OTR encryption. It is possible to manage multiple accounts, while only one can be active in a running instance.
