LanguageTool 5.5, free software for checking grammar, spelling, punctuation and style, has been released. The program is presented both as an extension for LibreOffice and Apache OpenOffice, and as an independent console and graphical application, and a web server. In addition, languagetool.org has an interactive grammar and spelling checker. Core code and standalone applications for LibreOffice and Apache OpenOffice require Java 8 or later. Provided compatibility with Amazon Corretto 8+, including extensions for LibreOffice. The main core of the program is distributed under the LGPL license. There are third-party plug-ins for integration with other programs, such as extensions for Google Chrome, Mozilla FireFox, Opera and Safari browsers, as well as for Google Docs (text editor) and Word 2016+.
