IceWM 1.7 window manager release

Available lightweight window manager release IceWM 1.7. Of the features of IceWM, one can note full control through keyboard shortcuts, the ability to use virtual desktops, the taskbar and application menus. The window manager is configured through a fairly simple configuration file, it is possible to use themes. Built-in applets are available for monitoring CPU, memory, traffic. Separately, several third-party GUIs for customization, desktop implementations, and menu editors are being developed. The code is written in C++ and spreads licensed under GPLv2.

All changes:

  • Added KeyboardLayouts setting to control keyboard layout switching. KeyboardLayouts automates the switching configuration via setxkbmap and allows you to specify a list of supported layouts in the form 'KeyboardLayouts="de","ru","en"' without setting up a manual call to setxkbmap.
  • Ensures that focus is maintained on the application window when the window manager is restarted and the previous focus is correctly restored when the active window is closed.
  • Added option ignoreActivationMessages to ignore programmatic requests from applications to change focus.
  • Instead of calling the shell to expand filenames by mask (for example, "[ac]*.c"), the function is used wordexp.
  • Added the Maximize Horizontal command to the window list view interface.
  • Added the possibility of detailed tracking of operations with the system tray.
  • Improved compliance with the XEMBED standard.
  • Updated NanoBlue theme (Nano_Blu-1.3).
