Oracle Company ΠΎΠΏΡƒΠ±Π»ΠΈΠΊΠΎΠ²Π°Π»Π° distribution release OracleLinux 8, created on the basis of the package database Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8. The assembly is supplied by default based on a standard package with a kernel from Red Hat Enterprise Linux (based on kernel 4.18). The proprietary Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel for Oracle Linux 8 is still under development.

Beta releases of Oracle Linux 8 and RHEL 8 are identical in functionality. New features such as replacing iptables with nftables, the modular AppStream repository, and switching to the DNF package manager instead of YUM can be found at review RHEL 8.

For loading prepared by installation iso-image, 6.6 GB in size, prepared for x86_64 architecture. For Oracle Linux also open unlimited and free access to the yum repository with binary updates of packages with bug fixes (errata) and security issues. Also for download available separately supported Application Stream modules.
