On June 18, the HestiaCP 1.00.0-190618 control panel for VPS/VDS servers was released.
This panel is an improved fork of VestaCP and is developed only for Debian-based distributions of Debian 8, 9 Ubuntu 16.04 18.04 LTS.
Just like the parent project, it is named after the goddess of the hearth Hestia only ancient Greek, not Roman.
Of the advantages of our project over VestaCP, the following can be noted:
- Numerous fixes and improvements in the bash backend code;
- Normal work with several PHP versions in php-fpm mode (in the future it is planned to implement PHP version selection directly from the PU web interface);
- Support for two-factor authentication of the panel user;
- Separation of user rights: for each site in the PU, a separate user is created - the owner of the site.
The admin user only manages server settings and other users.
This ensures a high level of security compared to Vesta.
- The interface is adapted for mobile devices, made more compact for more rational use of screen space. This change has a positive impact on usability.
- More friendly and adequate attitude towards bug reports and patches.
- Support for Let's Encrypt certificates when connecting to dovecot MDA in the mail subsystem;
The project needs experienced developers and testers.
We are open to cooperation for the benefit of OpenSource and competent bug reports.
