Release of the program for drawing MyPaint 2.0.0

After four years of development published new version of a specialized program for digital painting using tablet or mouse MyPaint 2.0.0. Program spreads under the GPLv2 license, development is carried out in Python and C ++ using the GTK3 toolkit. Ready builds formed for Linux (AppImage, Flatpak), Windows and macOS.

MyPaint can be used by digital artists and in some applications can compete with established proprietary painting programs Corel Painter и artrage. The program has a simple, easy-to-use interface and is not positioned as a graphic editor for image processing. MyPaint has a large set of brushes that mimic real artistic tools such as pencil, oil paint, watercolor, palette knife and others. One of the interesting features of the program is an infinite canvas that can be scrolled and zoomed.

All improvements:

• By default, linear compositing and spectral blending (pigment mode) are enabled, which are well suited for creating works that mimic the use of traditional materials and tools.
  

  Since the new methods are not without drawbacks, such as reduced performance, more difficult to merge layers, and a violation of portability, the settings and file open dialog have a MyPaint 1.x compatibility mode. Selecting this mode disables spectral blending and defaults to normal rather than pigmented layers, allowing you to open legacy files that look different in MyPaint 2.

  

• Rotating and scaling the canvas now affects the shape of brush strokes. The new hatching behavior resembles the action when turning the paper in front of the artist (previously, hatching was done as if the artist were turning with the sheet). Similarly, changing the zoom level affects the hatching parameters, as if a sheet of paper were enlarged in front of the artist.
  

• Many new brush options have been proposed (offset, advanced smear options, posterization (isohelion), pigment) and the input characteristics of the brushes (angle of attack, base radius, zoom level, etc.).
• Additional modes of symmetrical drawing are proposed: vertical, vertical + horizontal, rotational, snowflake.
• The fill tool has been improved, a fill with an offset, feathering, and gap detection have been added.
  

• Provided full support for Python3 and switched to using the PyGI library (PyGObject) instead of PyGTK;
