Release of qView 2.0 Image Viewer

A new version of the cross-platform image viewer qView 2.0 has been released. The main feature of the program is the efficient use of screen space. All the main functionality is hidden in the context menus, no extra panels and buttons on the screen. If desired, the interface can be customized.

List of main innovations:

  • Added caching and preloading of images.
  • Added multi-threaded image loading.
  • The settings window has been redesigned.
  • Added an option for the window to fit its size to the size of the image.
  • Added an option for images to never scale above their actual size when resizing the window.
  • The ability to use the mouse buttons "forward" and "backward" to navigate through images.
  • Added natural sorting.
  • Added aspect ratio data in file info dialog.
  • Slideshow mode now turns itself off when opening a new file.
  • Fixed many bugs and compatibility with Qt 5.9.

The program is written in C++ and Qt (GPLv3 license).

You can download it in Ubuntu PPA or DEB/RPM packages.
