Release of proprietary BitTorrent client Tixati 2.86

The free proprietary torrent client Tixati 2.86 has been released, available for Windows and Linux. Tixati excels in giving the user more control over torrenting at a memory footprint comparable to clients such as µTorrent and Halite. The Linux version uses the GTK2 interface.

Major changes:

  • Significantly redesigned WebUI:
    • Categories are implemented, as well as the ability to add, delete, move, filter hands and a number of other actions.
    • Hand names now have "private", "created", or "partial" indicators.
    • The peer list now shows additional information such as flag and location.
    • Significantly improved the output in the form of a list (“list layout”), which has become more compact. Added tooltips for very long filenames.
    • Provided CSS substitution directly into the HTML template to avoid flickering on load.
    • WebUI HTTPS server auto-generated TLS certificates now use the SHA256 algorithm.
  • Fixed a bug in the GTK file selection dialog that caused the last directory not to be remembered.
  • Minor fixes in the Add Category window.
  • Updated built-in table for linking location to IP addresses.
  • Minor changes to the built-in HTTP client used for trackers, RSS, and updating IP Filter rules.
  • Updated TLS libraries used for WebUI HTTPS server and outbound HTTPS connections.
